Freida passed away peacefully Feb 25, 2015. She was born April 4, 1925 in Miller Grove, Texas. She was the fifth daughter of seven children born to William and Annie Blount Johnson. Freida is preceded in death by her parents and five sisters. She is survived by her loving husband of sixty seven years, Jim Wallace, her daughter Sheri Hamer and her husband Terry, and her son Jamie Wallace. She is also survived by her two granddaughters whom she was so proud of, Lori Summers and Leigh Ann Torres and her husband Christian of Austin, Texas, and her five great grandchildren Devon and Cheyenne of Dallas and Rachel, Claire and Zoe of Austin Texas. She is also survived by her brother Bill Johnson and his wife Jane of Arlington, Texas, as well as three generations of nieces and nephews. Freida became a lifetime resident when she moved to Dallas after graduating high school to attend the Rutherford Business School. She was quickly hired by Hydrotex Industries as a temp, and remained until she eventually retired forty two years later as a corporate executive. Freida was fortunate enough to have taken several trips to her ideal locations such as Acapulco, Hawaii, and Europe. She also traveled to many states with her Lakeside Baptist Church group which she had been a member of for sixty one years. It was however, her annual trip back home to Miller Grove Texas for the First Saturday in May Celebration that she always looked forward to and perhaps enjoyed the most. This celebration is where people born and raised in Miller Grove return home for a day of fellowship, reminiscence, and a nice potluck picnic lunch that is shared by all attending. Memorial services will be held at Sparkman-Crane Funeral home on Thursday, March 19 at 2:00 pm.
