Froilan E. Salvador, age 57, passed away on January 18, 2012 at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, Texas. He was born and raised in Alicia, Isabela, Philippines. In 1968, he graduated from Alicia Elementary School then finished high school in 1971 at Dalton Academy. He finished his Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Zoology in 1976 at Far Eastern University then went to FEU College of Medicine and graduated in 1980. He spent one year post-graduate internship in Quezon Memorial Hospital in Lucena, Quezon then passed the Board Exam of Medicine in 1982. He chose to work in San Guillermo, Isabela for the government’s mandatory 6 months medical service then opened his clinic and worked at Ferdinand Marcos Veteran’s Hospital which was later changed to Nueva Viscaya Regional Medical Hospital from 1982 to 1991 in which he became the Chief of Clinics. On January 29, 1984, he married his childhood classmate and girlfriend and was blessed with 2 sons. Later on, he graduated with a Master’s degree in Hospital Administration from the University of Philippines in 1988.
He sacrificed much due to his love and devotion to his family. Giving up the career he had worked for so long to achieve, he and the rest of his family moved to Texas in 1991. He worked as a Respiratory Therapist at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, from September 8, 1993 to January 13, 2012 and also at Dallas Regional Medical Center. He always hoped to retire and offer free medical service in the Philippines.
He is survived by his wife Nenita J. Salvador and sons: Ian-Michael J. Salvador and Froilan J. Salvador Jr.; his parents Precioso Salvador, Sr. and Ely Salvador; sister Preseli Laciste; brothers Precioso Jr. and Emmanuel Salvador; his aunts and uncles Maria Agtang, Elpidia Mateo, Felipe Salvador, Sr., and Gil and Carol Evangelista; his nieces Ayra and Kristen Laciste, Claudine Salvador, and Carey Joy Javier; his nephews Jonathan Laciste and Archard and Zuriel Salvador; his sisters-in-law Yolanda and Nida Salvador and Carla Javier; brothers-in-law Warlito Laciste and Reynaldo Javier; and mother-in-law Cristeta Javier.
The funeral service is scheduled for Sunday at 2:00 P.M., February 5, 2012 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home with a reception following at Umphress Road United Methodist Church.
