Gene Frederick Shindoll

Gene F. Shindoll, age 85 of Dallas, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2106 with his family at his side. He was born on July 24, 1930 in Dallas, the son of Fred and Lodi Shindoll. Gene married his wife Alice Bernice Rhea and they celebrated 65 years of marriage before her passing on October 22, 2015.

Gene was a member of Metropolitan Bible Church for over 40 years, and most recently, Crossroads Bible Church in Talty. He was a loving husband and father, who loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great grand children. Gene was also a talented musician who taught himself to play the piano by ear at a young age. At the age of 12 he was the church pianist and organist and continued playing throughout his life.

Gene is survived by his four children and their spouses: Ron (Janet) Shindoll, Donna (Randy) Smith, Cynthia (Jeff) Rhodes, and Stephen (Zena) Shindoll; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren; one brother Orvil Shindoll; one sister Joyce Ruth Campbell; as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving relatives. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Bernice, three brothers, one sister, and one grandson.

The Family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, April 8, 2016, from 5-8 p.m. at Grove Hill Funeral Home, located at 3920 Samuel Blvd., Dallas, TX 75228. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 9 at Life Community Church. 425 US HWY 80 East, Sunnyvale, Texas 75182.
