George was born on November 23, 1934, in Chicago, IL. He was a proud graduate of Mount Carmel High School and joined the Air Force in 1953 at the age of 19. He was in the 585th Tactical Missile Squadron and worked on the electronics for guided missile systems. Shortly after the conclusion of his service time in 1957, while serving as Best Man in a friend’s wedding, he met the Bride’s Maid of Honor, Dorothy McCallum, and fell in love. They married June 9, 1960. He spent the bulk of his career in computer sales with Bunker Ramo Corporation which offered him an opportunity to move from Chicago to Dallas. So, Spring of 1969, they packed up their 2 children, Theresa (then age 7) and George (then age 5) and moved from Chicago to Dallas, with Dorothy extremely pregnant with their third child, Christy (born July 1969). He would continue to work for Bunker Ramo until his retirement in 1999. He enjoyed retirement greatly, spending time doing things he loved most in life: traveling with his wife and family, gardening, cooking, and inventing household gadgets.
George is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy, daughters, Theresa and Christy, and son, George and his wife Pam, grandchildren, Haley and husband Brad, McKenzie, Michael, Ethan, and Sloane, and great grandchildren, Ella and Olivia. He is also survived by his sister, Rosemary Devine.
