January 24, 1930 in Grand Saline, Texas. The oldest of 9 children, he was
fresh off the farm when he joined the service just after WWII. Honorably served
our country and met Beverly J. Furness and married her. He was known as a
loving son, brother, husband, father, grand father and employer.
Preceded in death by his mother and dad, Sisters; Joy Attkisson and Barbara Sue Hoskinson,
Grandsons; Rodney, II, Shaun Starkey and Stephen Middleton. George is also survived
by his wife of 66 years, Beverly J. Starkey, Sons; Rodney and David, and daughters; Debra and Susan Starkey.
Sister Betty Clifford Gray, and brothers Bill and wife Ester, Jerry and wife Barbara Ann, Kenneth
and wife Lucine, Gary and wife Bo, and Richard Starkey. Too many cousins and nieces and
nephews to list. Many friends and extended family will miss him too.
He was successful in the auto repair shop he owned and operated since 1964. He was active in
church as a Deacon and in the auto repair industry. He was past Dallas chapter president of
Auto Service Association. Always ready to serve the LORD and his friends and family.
He loved to travel in an RV and spend time recording "old movies". He loved country music and
Bob Wills and so many Gospel singers.
George was called home to be with his Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST on May 26, 2016 from his home in Dallas TX.
