He was a proud veteran of World War II. He was also a proud alumnus of the Texas A&M Class of ’44, which was sent to war in the middle of their senior year. Living in Austin, Texas, for a number of years and expressing his sense of humor, he enjoyed wearing his A&M Catholic and Tennis t-shirts everywhere. Tennis was an important part of his life, playing until the age of 89. Also, while in Austin, he was honored for his ten years of volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club teaching tennis.
