Gilbert Ray Vela, 54, of Dallas, Texas passed away on February 13, 2015. Gilbert was born in June of 1960 to his loving parents, Ramon and Mary Vela. Growing up, he attended St. Mary's Catholic School, Jesuit Preparatory College and SMU. He enjoyed playing tennis and lived in New York City from 2000 to 2012 in order to pursue his career goals. He was a certified CPA and was very dedicated to his profession. Beloved son and friend, he will be dearly missed by all those who loved him.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Vela; Best Friend, Gerardo Macias; Aunt, Helen (Joe) Anguiano and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Ramon Vela and his furry best friend, his dog, Bunky.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 2p.m. to 5p.m. A Rosary will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00p.m. at the Calvary Hill Mausoleum North Chapel. Interment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
