You know I still miss you very much and its comforting to know that I can jump on here and see you whenever I want  but I'm still in a lot of pain over you not being here...  Every time I think of you or something out of the ordinary reminds me of you man it really hurts and my eyes water up. Awhile back I went to a restaurant and Mariachis were there doing their thing and if that wasn't bad enough they played happy birthday for someone and man I tell you what THAT HURT.  So you mean to tell me I cant even hear happy birthday in Spanish anymore? I cant hear someone play the accordion either? What did you do!!! HAHA.. I can laugh about it now but that day really hit me and people were looking at me crazy! Someone was there to celebrate a good occasion yet Im over here balling in the corner with my girl on a date and you should have seen her she didn't have a clue what to do with my vulnerability. I miss your faces, I miss the way you could convince folks that something was going on when it really wasn't and chuckle later on to show the punchline that you were messing with people (I think that's where I get that from). I miss the greeting at the door when I came over or every time Id leave you would wait outside for me to go. I miss a lot of things about you and just thought Id drop a line to let you know I was reminded of you and that I miss you and love you so so so much Papo.  -joshua

I am heart broken to hear of Beto's passing.  He was my dads best friend.  I will remember him as a kind, talented and loyal man. I will treasure the memories of going with my parents to Beto and Oralia's to visit. Especially when the music started. 

Peace and blessings to Gilbert Villanueva's family. As a child, our parents were members of the Santa Teresita Mission Church on Bedford Street in West Dallas.. Gilbert a man of God, served our little church with fundraising and giving of himself through his music at our small jamaicas.  May perpetual light shine upon him and may he rest in peace. Tio Beto 
I have so many memories in your home on Sundays to watch the game and where my  passion for the Dallas Cowboys was born.  I cherished Christmas Eve  every year at your house.  I miss your smile, your lame jokes, your stories, your disposable cameras, and of course your accordion.  Thank you for teaching me how important family is and being my dads almost twin and best friend.  When you won Knight of The Year, you said to me “Mija, I never won anything before!” But I say “Tio, you had indeed won... you had won all of our hearts!”  Praying for my sweet cousins and mi Tia. Love you all!  See you in heaven Tio !♥️

My deepest sympathy Oralia and family.  I will always remember Gilbert playing the accordion at family gatherings.   He was a soft spoken, loving gentleman.  Although we didn't see each other very often, we had family ties and love.   May he rest in peace and may God give you strength and comfort and accept his will.  

My heart is very heavy thinking about my dear Tio Beto! I will miss his voice and the way he said my name the most! He had a lot of talents, including, his quick wit, accordion skills, and his golden speaking voice, those were my favorite traits! He was like a big brother to everyone he met! He could make you laugh with a little story and his home always made you feel like you belonged there! My favorite story with him was his trip to Al Capone’s grave! My parents recollection of that day is hilarious and the pictures are even better! Rest Easy Tio, and know that we love you and will miss you! xoxo

Your attendance at all family functions was always an added bonus. Your accompanying birthdays with your accordion talent was always expected and welcomed   And it was an honor to witness you as the MC at weddings and quinceaneras for the family with your bold voice that commanded attention.  And then there were more subtle family gatherings in your backyard with the stories you so proudly shared about the Villanueva history. And..... I along with many relatives, treasure the pens with your name on it that you gave us with pride and love.  RIP Tio Beto.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. It’s always hard to put feelings into words when it comes to the loss of a great man. Not only is Gilbert a Hugh loss to his family & friends but to the Latino Community and to every heart he touched along his path.  Knowing the Villanueva family is definitely a gift from God. We are blessed to have shared great memories with Gilbert and his entire family. Gilbert was someone very special in a person’s life that they could look up to, young or old anyone would learn and go to him for advice. Losing such a strong presence in life can be extremely hard to cope with. There will never be another man quite like him and his memory will live on forever.

We will keep the entire Villanueva family in our thoughts and prays during this hard times. “Let the memories of this great man provide you with comfort and serve as guidance.” May he rest in peace. We love you Gilbert!

Judy, I am so sorry to hear about your father’s passing. I know this is a very sad and difficult time for you and your family. I will keep you and your family close in my thoughts and prayers. You have my very deepest sympathy.  

Beto  you left us with so many wonderful memories that we can look back on and smile and laugh about. And I don’t mean giggle a little.  I mean the belly laughs that only you could make us do over absolutely nothing. I remember the times we would sit on Ama and Apa’s front porch   watching the kids play and talking about anything  and everything and just thoroughly enjoying ourselves.   I remember how you blessed my mom by singing and playing your accordion on her birthday at St Joseph’s   She could not smile big enough to show how full her heart was and she bragged about that for weeks. It was truly the highlight of her birthday. Thank you.  I will always remember how you loved me and always made me feel welcomed in your home. Thank you for teaching my kids these values of love, family and hospitality.  I will miss you my dear brother-in-law. But I have the blessed assurance  that Jesus has you safe in His  arms enjoying what He had planned for you. Beto, Until we meet again.....

Papo, words can't describe how devastated I am that you're leaving this life and entering the kingdom of heaven. We all miss you so dearly already. You were An inspiration to each and every person you came across. I know you're watching over the whole family. We love you so much, and I am grateful I got to be your grandson. Rest in heaven and play the accordion for those who haven't heard your talent. I love you. 

We consider it an honor and a privilege to have a Tio Beto in our family! If you also have a “Tio Beto” in your family then you will understand why are hearts are broken and hopeful at the same time! He’s the one that is the funniest uncle with all his corny jokes that you can’t help but laugh at-even if you have heard them a million times-reminds me of my dad! He’s the one that has the unique talent of serenading everyone on their birthdays with his English and Spanish versions! He’s the one that his wife is the biscuit to his gravy or like rice and beans. Can’t have one with out the other... wouldn’t be the same.. it’s like one word tiobetoandtiaoralia! His home is where we spent our Sunday afternoons rooting for the cowboys and our Christmas Eves filled with pure joy and laughter! He’s the one you don’t want to have the microphone at family parties! If you don’t have a Tio Beto in your family.. become that person to your family! As for us...we call it pure joy to have had a Tio Beto in our family or you could call it Villanueva pride! I’m proud to have carried this name 
-meaning new house or new village..because we are a village! We yell loud, love loud, cry loud, and we laugh loud! We will miss him dearly but we know when we reach heavens gate... our Tio Beto will be waiting with accordion ready to welcome us in!

Anybody that knows me,knows i love music.I learned this from the Ybarra side of my family. I learned to love the accordian,and the polkas,because of Beto.As a kid my father would go visit Beto,and i would tag along,and we ask him to play something,he would play, Viva Seguin,or Open up your Heart.He brought us such joy.Thats why i bought my accordian 35 yrs ago,because of Beto,dont know how to play it yet,maybe one day i will. My parents Frank and Zulema would be heartbroken if they were still here, we all are heartbroken,Thanks for the beautiful memories Beto.May everyone find peace!

Papo, I will always love u n miss u dearly so many memories shared at the house so many Christmas's so many Thanksgivings so many holidays that I enjoyed so many times you cheered me up when I was down so many times we had wonderful conversations whether to encourage me or to set me straight when I needed. All the many jokes we would swap or how as a kid it'd be $20 every time Id visit HAHA or the time when my pet hamster died and we had a service for him and buried him in the back. The magic tricks, or how you could pull ur dentures out (kids freaked on that one haha). U were there for me when I needed and it was always that reminder to me of my dad If he was here how he wouldve been with me. I love u sooo much. I'll always cherish every moment Ive spent with u n grams and bubba and was always mesmerized at the way them hands and fingers MOVED on that accordion. I love u sooo much i will always miss u n u will always live through my heart and through every elses. Rest in peace with Daddy and Tio Pauly

I will miss you Gilbert.  When I first came to Dallas you and I worked together at DG Battery.  I was young and scared but, you always made me feel comfortable.  Your funny jokes were a plus.  Family gatherings and you playing the accordion well, I will never forget.
You are an angel now watching down over all of us.  I am blessed that you were a part of my life.

 I will miss you so much and I love you!  I think about having you at all of our parties singing and playing your accordion.  Who does that?    WE DO! ! Cause every single one of us have had you sing happy birthday to us at one time or another and we had the best musician right in our own family and I'm so grateful for that.  I will treasure your spirit, your wit and your talent always.
