Aunt Myrlene was the second youngest of her eight siblings. Her brother and my father Benny Ray, was the baby. They lost their mother Lottie Lavonia Pugh at a very young age and was raised by the oldest sister, Caroline Jones Manning. The siblings were close and took care of each other. I remember our sweet visits to Thornton Arkansas where family would travel to in the summers. We would play, laugh and have BBQ’s. All the cousins slept on the carpet and told  stories. It was a beautiful childhood and Aunt Myrlene was a big part of making that wonderful memory. I will miss her smile and sweet laugh. Aunt Myrlene was the last of her siblings to pass. They have all passed now, but not forgotten. Love you, Aunt Myrlene.

I was sadden to hear of my aunts passing. She was my father’s sister & we all called her aunt Merlene. 
Every summer my father,mother, & sister & I would drive from California to Thornton ARK to visit family & we would all gather at my aunt Nannies home. Aunt Merlene & family would come from Dallas & we would have a great time talking & laughing &my dad playing country music with his band. Wonderful memories that I treasure. 
She was a sweet lady & had a great sense of humor.

Mom D (Gladys) and her entire family, Teddy, Dale, JD, and Papa D, all "adopted" me when I lived in Dallas. Mom D made sure I was invited to every fish fry and holiday gathering, and opened her house and heart to me. 

And Linda was a gift from God in Mom D's life - Mom D had so many extra "good" days because of Linda's care. Thank you, Linda, for being so faithful in making sure Mom could live out her days at home. 

My life has been immeasurably blessed over the years by the entire Donahue family, and especially Mom D's continuing love. Our earth is a bit darker without her presence.
