I met Glenda at El Centro College in 2003. I needed to learn about computers, and I was blessed to have her as my instructor for most of my classes. She was the best and most patient instructor I could have had. Between being a novice and legally blind, I was quite the challenge to teach. She went above and beyond to help me, and spent many, many hours in the computer lab coaching me. We became very close friends, and I recently made plans to move close to her so we could get together often. I miss her terribly, and grieve losing her friendship. Praying for her family to have peace and strength.

Glenda, we remember all our family Christmas', your hours of making food, special handpicked and wrapped gifts, the trimming and decorating of the tree, and Sunday worship services.  You made each Christmas season special for every member of our family, 1969 thru 2025.

Glenda, remember your first time being president of Texas Community Colleges Teaching Association (TCCTA), 1996-1997 and again in 2000-2001.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Ms. Glenda Easter. I had the pleasure of knowing her during my time at El Centro Community College. She was a true joy to be around, and her warm personality and professionalism left a lasting impression. She will be greatly missed, and her memory will always remain with us.

Glenda was such a wonderful person. She will truly be missed by many who crossed her path. She always had a smile on her face, and it made her happy to help, not only her students but also others who came to her for advice or assistance.  Glenda never turned anyone away. Glenda was a very special person and one that loved God.  She and Chuck are so dear and special in my life.  I loved working with Glenda.  She went out of her way to make El Centro the best college in Texas.  I loved visiting her classroom and seeing her interact with her students.  Also, without Glenda’s hardwork, we would not have the successful visits from SACS.
She will be missed, but she is smiling from heaven.

Although I didn't know Glenda but for a little over a year, I felt like I had known her for a lifetime.  The first time I met Glenda at church, I fell in love with her.  Her love for the Lord radiated throughout her whole being.  Her smile, her kindness, and her love for people was what made her so special.  I will miss you forever, but I know I will see you again, so until then....it is not goodbye....it is until we meet again.

I've enjoyed spending the last few days reflecting on all the years I've known Glenda and the many things we shared together.  (supporting students in so many ways; curriculum/ IT program building; local & state faculty association work; creating distance learning courses; DCCCD retiree association activities - to mention only a few)

Ah - so many memories!!  I could easily write a book, but I'll give you the condensed version.

If I had to find one word to describe Glenda it would be GENEROUS.  Generous with her time, love, compassion for causes and people, desire to help whenever asked - even when her plate was already overflowing.  She strived for excellence in everything she was a part of and was/still is admired by so many people.

The new home in East Texas, her new church and having her family nearby were some of her greatest joys and she loved every minute of it.  Glenda was truly the patriarch  of the larger and extended family and her presence will certainly be missed by all.

But one thing is for certain - If there are angels in heaven - Glenda will be among them - organizing, consoling and giving love to all who come in contact with her.  Once again, she will reunite with those who have gone before her and her days will be filled with happiness, peace and joy.

May each of you continue to be reminded of what she brought to your life and the family, and know that you will all be with her again sometime in the future.

I am grateful to God that she was part of my life and was my friend.
