

Glendower Otto Haedge: Born April 6, 1919 in Copperas Cove, Texas, on ground that now is Fort Hood. He passed away February 1, 2015 in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 95. Glen proudly served with the 36th Infantry Division during WWII and participated in the landing at Salerno, Italy. He was awarded both a purple heart and a bronze star. He continued involvement with the armed forces by being a longtime member of the Disabled American Veterans, especially in his retirement. He married Mildred nee Kieschnick in 1946, and their marriage lasted 68+ years. He worked for 41 years at the DuPont Company in Dallas. Having been raised on a farm, he always had good gardens. He was an active member at three Lutheran churches in the Dallas area: Trinity, Grace, and Bethel. Survivors include: Wife, Mildred; daughter, Barbara Neumann; sons, David and wife Risa, Randy and wife Cathy; 6 granddaughters; 3 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2015, at Bethel Lutheran church 11211 E. Northwest Hwy., Dallas. The family will receive friends prior to the service starting at 10:00 a.m.. Interment will be at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery on Monday, February 9, at 1 p.m. “And so he died, old and full of years” Job 42:17
