Glennie Mae Lyles-Morgan was born June 1, 1919 in Franklin, Texas to the parentage of Mr. Henry Lyles and Effie Isabelle Perkins-Lyles of Calvert, Texas.
She received Christ at an early age. Glennie attended The Church of God in Christ in Longbranch, Texas until moving to Dallas and she joined Freedom Missionary Baptist Church. Later she moved her membership closer to her home where she joined Mt. Erie Baptist Church, after which she moved even closer to her home and made Ervay Cedar Baptist Church her final church home. Here, she was very happy and she loved her church family, her biological family, friends, and her medical team that came to check on her at her home to serve her in her time of illness.
Glennie Mae Lyles-Morgan attended school in Kosse, Texas. Later she married Jesse James Morgan and moved to Bremond, Texas. Much later she moved to Dallas, Texas where she worked different jobs, until she found her passion for sewing. She became a seamstress/alterations worker at a cleaners until she retired.
Glennie is preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, two sons, five sisters, five brothers, two granddaughters, and one grandson. She was the 3rd child and the last of eleven children.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Three daughters, Helen G. Anderson, Mary Morgan-Wilson, Ruby Morgan, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She lived to see her sixth generation.
