Gloria was born to parents Sam Williams (deceased) and Berline King. Gloria lived in Paris, Texas for the 1st six years of life where she attended T. G. Givens Elementary School. Gloria, then moved to Cooper, Tx to live with her great grandmother where she graduated from Cooper High School #10 in the class of 1978. Gloria attended North Texas State University (NTSU) where she graduated from in 1982. While attending NTSU, she met the love of her life and soul mate, James Abanaka were born. They were married January 24, 1981. To that union, twin sons James Abanaka II and Jamon Abanaka were born.
After graduating from NTSU, Gloria worked at Foot Action USA as a corporate buyer for 15 years. Her passion has always been justice and law, which led to Gloria attending Texas Wesleyan Law School, now Texas A&M Law School in which she graduated in December 1998. Gloria passed the Texas State Bar in May 1999. In December 1999, she began working for the Dallas County DA office where she worked in Family Violence Court #11. She was promoted to Grand Jury intake where she worked misdemeanors family violence's and felony offences.
Gloria faith began with uniting with the love Chapel Church of God in Christ at a very young age. Gloria converted to Catholicism in 1992 at St Elizabeth Catholic Church where she remained an active member of the RCIA & St. Elizabeth Ensemble, Ladies Altar Guild, Pastors Advisory Committee, member of Bishop Advisory Committee for 4 years for Bishop Farrell, now Cardinal Farrell.
Gloria was preceded in death by her father, Sam Williams, two brothers, Jimmy Lee Williams and Willie George Williams an aunt, Rose Coleman, and three uncles, GC King, Robert King, and Ronnie King (Sissy). Gloria is survived by her loving and faithful husband, James Abanaka, sons James Abanaka II (Courtney) and Jamon Abanaka; three grandchildren, Joshua Scipio, James Abanaka III (Trey) and Caleb Abanaka (Munchin); her mother, Berline Jackson; two brothers, Sam Williams, Jr and Frederick Dwayne Williams (Emmer); Uncles Harold King and Carlton King, her loving Aunt Kay Frazier (Uncle Tommie); two best friends, Lenora Casmore & Sandra Myles; her Dallas County DA Family and a host of other relatives and friends.
