Gloria Larinda Byrd, passed away on February 20, 2026, as a result of complications from Alzheimer's Disease.
She was born on August 23, 1951, in Dallas to John J. and Alberta (Murphy) Ladusky. She graduated from the UTMB Galveston School of Nursing in 1973, receiving advanced degrees from Texas Woman's University and Texas A&M University and was a lifelong nursing educator, teaching at El Centro College, TCU, UTMB, and Texas Woman's University. Her teaching career spanned over 40 years and she was a positive influence on her students, many who in turn dedicated their careers to the medical profession. She was an avid gardener, tirelessly working in her yard and sharing her expertise with neighbors and friends. She was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert; her parents; and her brother, Tim. Gloria is survived by Bob, her husband of 47 years; her brother, John Ladusky (Marlene) of Austin; and her sister-in-law Beverly Ladusky (Tim) of Arlington.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75225. The Rosary will begin at 10:30 a.m. with Mass of the Resurrection following at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026, at St Monica Catholic Church, 9933 Midway Rd, Dallas, TX 75220.
