Gloria Gomez Velasco was born in Dallas, Texas April 13, 1938 to Rebecca and Julian Gomez. She was an only child but had several relatives who were just like her siblings. She went to be with our heavenly Father and Saviour Jesus Christ on April 7, 2022 in the home of her daughter, Patricia surrounded by all of her children and grandchildren.
Gloria resided in Dallas, Texas most of her life then moved in with her eldest daughter Helen Marie Velasco, to Wylie, Texas in 2001. She graduated from Forest Avenue High School in 1956 in Dallas, Texas. She worked for the Neiman Marcus Service Center for 21 years in accounts receivable and credit department. She then moved to Bank One as an account representative for 6 years. Her last employment was with Sanger-Harris (now Macy's) as a sales associate for 5 years. She loved to serve her church working as a pre-teen teacher in Sunday School, playing the piano for services, and singing in the choir and praise team.
Gloria was an active member of Primera Bautista Iglesia de Dallas, (First Mexican Baptist Church of Dallas) , North Dallas Family Church and remained with First Baptist Wylie Church. She was preceeded in death by her parents. She is survived by her aunt, Maria (Chelo)Guerrero Munoz, sons and daughters, Helen Marie Velasco, Rebecca Soto and spouse Daniel, Roy Velasco, Jr., Rafael Velasco Sr., spouse, Gilda and Patricia DeLeon, spouse Pablo Sr. Grandchildren: Melissa Velasco, Rosanna Rodriguez, Lena Cordova, Arlene Soto, Samantha Velasco, Matthew Soto, Ralph Velasco Jr., Gabriella DeLeon, Isabella Cavazos, Pablo , Alex, and Adrianna DeLeon. Great grandchildren: Alaina, Avery, Teagan, Aaleyah, Samuel, Emory, Dia, and Joshua Daniel ("JD").
