It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Graciela Garza Rubio (affectionately known as Gracie), who entered eternal rest on October 15, 2025 surrounded by her family’s love.
Born on December 20, 1956 in San Benito, Texas, Gracie lived a life defined by love, strength, and faith. She was the devoted mother of two children, and the proud grandmother of six cherished grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother — cooking their favorite foods, cheering at school events and offering words of encouragement and warmth that made everyone feel loved.
Gracie lived her life with unshakable strength, steadfast independence, and a natural gift for leadership. She led by example with grace, courage, and faith. Whether offering a helpful hand, wise advice, or simply her presence, she made our world a better place.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Zoila P. and Jose Garza; daughter, Josefa Rubio; nephew; Adam R.G. Aguero; brother, Jaime Ponce Garza; sisters, Gloria Carrion and Cruz Garza Juarez, and leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, Robert Rubio Jr. (Dena) and Michaela Rubio (Alfonso); grandchildren, Robert Rubio III, Justin Luque Rubio, Andrew Nikolai Rubio, Laila Jade Paniagua, Ethan Raizo Rubio and Eva Rose Paniagua; sisters, Lupe Billingsley (James), Maria Sweeten, Jose Garza (Virginia), Juana Garza (Victor), Paula Garza, Simona Garza (Lenora); 30+ nieces/nephews & grandnieces/grandnephews and all who were blessed to know her.
Her love will live on in our hearts forever.
