Grant Williams Jr. was born on May 17, 1945, to Grant Williams Sr. and Vivian Lewis. He was raised in Dallas, Texas, and graduated from James Madison High School in 1963.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and continued his service in the United States Air Force and the Army National Guard. After his military career, he worked in the bakery industry and later retired from the United States Postal Service.
Affectionately known as “Bubba” and “Poppa,” Grant was a quiet and kind man who made a lasting impact on those around him. He enjoyed music, dancing, concerts, and shopping. His favorite sayings—“Just relax,” “You all right,” and “Count your blessings”—reflected his calm and caring spirit.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sisters, Ruby Jean Lang, Zester Ann Lewis, and Sherry Faye Lewis; his son, Grant Williams III; three grandchildren, Tahir, Grant IV, and Xavier; his nieces, Miracle Thompson and Aujante Thompson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Grant Williams Jr. passed away on March 13, 2026, at the age of 80. Grant was a resident of Dallas, Texas.
