Born on May 8, 1941, in Campofelice di Fitalia, Sicily, Grace was the fifth of seven children. She was raised in a close-knit family where life centered on farming, cooking, and caring for one another—values that shaped the way she lived her life.
Grace met the love of her life, Pietro Eustachio, Sr., through family acquaintances at a festival in Sicily. They fell in love and were married in 1963, just three months after meeting. In 1964, Grace left her beloved Sicily for the first time to join Pietro in the United States. Together, they built a new life in Dallas and fulfilled their dream of opening Pietro's Pizzeria, which later became Pietro's Italian Restaurant, where they shared their love of authentic Italian food and hospitality with the community for over 50 years.
Grace was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She found joy in sewing, gardening, and cooking for those she loved. She was especially known for her homemade cannoli and fresh-baked Italian bread, bringing family and friends together around the table with every meal she prepared.
Grace was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pietro Eustachio, Sr., and her son, Pietro Eustachio, Jr.
Her love and legacy live on through her surviving family: her daughters, Rosalia Lafferty and husband Mark, and Claudia Powell and husband Jared; her grandchildren, Joseph Lafferty and wife Gina, Nicholas Lafferty, Grace Powell, Giuliana Powell, and Peter Eustachio; her great-grandchildren, Gisella Lafferty and Sofia Lafferty; her sister, Pina Belice; her brothers, Salvatore Sciortino and wife Maria, and Enzo Sciortino and wife Rita. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends.
Grace's life was defined by her unwavering faith, her love for her family, and her generous heart. Her kindness, strength, and the traditions she passed down will be treasured always, and her memory will continue to live on in the lives of all who were blessed to know and love her.
