

On August 22, 2019, Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Gregory L. Morgan passed in peace at the age of 56. Husband of Charlette and loving father of Zachary. Cherished son of Major (Ret.) Ernest Morgan (deceased) and Margaret Morgan and respected brother of Jacquelyn Morgan, Deborah Burgess and Ernest Morgan, Jr.
Greg was a disciplined and dedicated soldier. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1984 and went on to serve in the United States Army as an Infantry Officer for over 22 years. During his military career, he earned the coveted Ranger Tab, the Expert Infantryman Badge and he was Airborne and Air Assault qualified. He served in Panama (Operation Just Cause) and Iraq and is the bearer of the Combat Infantryman Badge. After completing his distinguished military career and retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel, he went back to school to obtain his Master of Business Administration from Concordia University.
Greg was a true friend to many, including fellow soldiers, classmates and colleagues. Greg was a true car enthusiast – especially for Corvettes and Porsches. Greg enjoyed reading and running and he also had extensive knowledge of history and politics. A truly wonderful and compassionate person, Greg will be greatly missed by all who loved him. A visitation for Greg will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 South R.L., Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232. A funeral service will occur Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 6300 South R.L., Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232. Committal and Burial service will take place at Laurel Land Memorial Park immediately following the Funeral service Thursday morning.
