Guadalupe A. Garcia, 94, passed away on August 18, 2026. She was a resident of Irving, Texas. Born January 13, 1932, Guadalupe will be remembered as a beloved presence in the lives of those who knew her—steady in faith, generous in spirit, and kind-hearted in the ways that mattered most.
In the early 1950’s, Guadalupe migrated to the United States with her mother and her siblings. Having lost her father at a very young age, she worked to help support her family, meeting life with quiet resolve and a deep sense of responsibility. In 1953, she married Joe Garcia, and they remained married until his passing in 2016. Throughout her life, Guadalupe was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, and a pillar of strength to her family. Her caring spirit and generosity left a lasting imprint on all who were fortunate to be part of her world.
Guadalupe’s love was often expressed through her kitchen. A talented cook in every sense, she was especially known for her tamales and mole; meals prepared with skill, patience, and the unmistakable warmth of someone who delighted in nourishing others. In later years, she enjoyed watching soccer, and she treasured time spent with family, particularly her great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.
Guadalupe was preceded in death by her parents, Vidal Amezquita and Aurora Navarro; her husband, Joe Garcia; her sons, Javier Garcia, Jaime Garcia, and Leticia Garcia; her sister, Carmela Amezquita; and her great-grandson, Matthew Rojas.
She is survived by her daughter, Lilia Rojas, and her husband, Ruben Rojas; her grandson, Mario Rojas, and his wife, Veronica Rojas; great-granddaughter, Mariah Ward, and her husband, Colby Ward; great-granddaughters, Natalie Rojas and Alex Rojas; her grandson, Carlos Rojas, and his wife, Alicia Rojas; great-grandson, Luke Rojas; great-granddaughter, Sophia Rojas; and her brother, Juan Navarro, and nieces and nephews.
