

She spent her earlier years with her nine siblings on a military base in Chicago, Illinois, before moving to Dallas, Texas when she was the age of 17. Gwen graduated from Franklin D Roosevelt High School in 1967, where she ran track and was a majorette dancer. Her love and passion for music, dance and people inspired her to start her business LADYDJ ENTERPRISE. She was the life of the party and a social butterfly. Gwen started her career at Texas Instruments (TI) and later retired at Alcatel(Rockwell) after 28 years of service. While working at Alcatel she was an Arbitrator for the Union ,and volunteered to tutor math for an afterschool program.
Gwendolyn Wilson departed this life on Saturday July 15th, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Johnson and Evelyn Johnson, her sister Ada Diane Thompson and brother Edgar Henry Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memory to her four children: Tina (William) Darby, Billy W Willson Jr, Teresa (Michael) Crump, Tanisha Smith, and ten grandchildren Taniqua Stansbury, Tacora (Christina) Stansbury, Brittyna Wilson,Charity (Wendell) Neal, Billy Wilson III,Patrick Neal Jr, Tiyyara Neal, Jaiden Wilson, Kaleb Wilson, Duke Wilson, and five great grandchildren Chase Cooper, Josiah Stansbury, Jeremiah Stansbury, Kyra Cooper,and Gianna Stansbury. Her seven siblings Lawrence Stansbury Jr, Deborah Johnson, Willburt Johnson, Donna Rabon, Nathaniel Johnson, Nic’kolas Johnson, Valorie Johnson. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
