Mirza's take on current events and the city was always enlightening for me. He was such a smart man, and he had experienced such a broad spectrum of the world around him. For me, chatting with Mirza was like reading a really good book.

Oh, I think so highly of Mirza and his family. He was such a delightful and kind man, interested in everyone who came through the door of the Ross Avenue shop. He loved Dallas, cherished its history as the place he called home, and stayed interested in the daily life of the city, its past and its future.
I will very much miss his cheerful greeting and his love of life and his dear family. It was clear he loved you all so much. I am so grateful to have known him.

Dear Amirkhans,
Your loss is surely felt and shared by all who knew Mirza, who was always a joy to see when we visited the shop. His obituary reveals such an impressive life of accomplishment, not only personal, but as we know, that of having so many friends who admired him and enjoyed his company. He will clearly be missed, but our memory of him remains with those who knew him.

It was such an honor to have met Mr. Amirkhan a few times. He was so very gracious. I remember him sitting at his typewriter, one that predated him in age, and efficiently working away on it. We salute him for his service to our country and being part of "The Greatest Generation" that made our comfortable way of life possible. "Thank you, Mr. Amirkhan."

Our sincerest sympathies to Ellen and all the family.

Dear Mrs. Amirkhan, Ellen, Nelson, and family,

Mr. Amirkhan was always a joy to talk to. We had several long conversations because of our shared Snow/Bangs connections. My grandmother was Vera Azalea Snow of Bangs, so let's assume we are all family!

I pass by the business daily and always think of your family. Mr. Armirkhan was a gentleman and pillar of Dallas.

Wishing you happiness in the new year. You have my condolences now.
