Hanh Vu

Born on January 1, 1932, in Hai Duong, Vietnam, to Huan Duc Phan (father) and Mui Thi Le (mother), Hanh pursued higher education with great dedication. She graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines, and later completed postgraduate studies at the University of Minnesota.

On July 24, 1965, Hanh married Chuan P. Vu, with whom she shared a cherished and devoted life. She began her professional career serving with the Ministry of Information and Press (Bo Thong Tin Bao Chi Vietnam) for the South Vietnamese government and taught English to Vietnamese soldiers. She later continued her work in Vietnam with USAID, before eventually building a service-oriented career in the United States as a Social Worker for the State of Oregon in Portland.

In April of 1975, Hanh was among the first groups of refugees to arrive in the United States. With only a few personal belongings, she made the courageous journey while carrying with her the most precious of gifts—a brand-new baby boy.

In her later years, Hanh was a faithful member of All Saints Parish in Dallas, TX. She was known for her passion for cooking, entertaining, and creating warm, welcoming gatherings in her home. Her deep love for family and her hospitality touched everyone who knew her.

Hanh is survived by her loving husband, Chuan Phuong Vu, her beloved son, Bao Chau Phuong Vu, and her grandson, Caden Hien Vu.

She was the loving sibling to:
