Harold "Hal" Byrd Brixey

Harold Byrd Brixey was born March 15, 1923 in Cushing, Oklahoma and passed away on January 20, 2012, Dallas, Texas. He was 88 years old. At the age of six, he moved with his family to McPherson, Kansas where he lived until college. In 1947, he married Norma Imming. Together they raised four children: JaAnne, who married Michael Leikam; Laura married Henry Reinhardt; John, who remained single until his death in 1997; and Katy, who married Richard Box. Hal has seven grandchildren: Aaron, Ginny, Jason, Brooke, Christopher, Michael and Steven. He was the proud Grandpa to six great-grandchildren: Tanner, Gabriela, Taylor, Hayden, Cole and Brady. He loved and was devoted to his family, playing golf, traveling, collecting antiques, Indian crafts, and socializing with everyone. He was a longtime member of the Rotary Club, the Oakridge Country Club, and Northway Christian Church. After Norma's death in 2004, Hal married Pat Cathcart in 2009. He joined her in the Aldersgate Class at First United Methodist Church in which he came to be an energetic contributing member. Hal and Pat enjoyed several years of friendship prior to their marriage. Together they spent the final years of Hal's life in loving joy.

Memorial Service at First Unite Methodist Church, 1928 Ross Ave,11:00a,m., Saturday January 28th, 2012. Memorials may be made in Hal's memory to St Jude's Children Hospital.
