Harold Walter Riggs

Harold Walter Riggs, age 95, was born on September 6, 1928 in Dallas, Texas to Cecil D. and Beatrice (Myers) Riggs. He passed away on March 30, 2024 in Irving, Texas.

Harold was raised in the Fair Park area of Dallas and graduated from Forest Avenue High School in 1946. He married Marjorie L. Esner in December 1946 and they were married 76 years until Margie’s death in July 2023. Harold was employed by Oilwell Division of U.S. Steel in Dallas for over 40 years. He was a resident of Rowlett for the last 35 years.

Harold lived a life filled with love and many cherished memories. He enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling, watching sports and traveling. He had recently started playing corn hole and balloon volley ball. He was loved and respected by everyone that knew him and will be sincerely missed by his loving family and friends.

Harold is preceded in death by his wife Margie and his mother and father. He is survived by his two daughters, Debra Mitchell and husband James and Donna Macaluso and husband Mike; his son Mark Riggs and wife Jill; his grandchildren, Andrea Macaluso, Kyle Riggs (Heidi), Steven Burt (Sheila), Randy Burt (Bri), Jessica Pierson (Jason), Erin Hobbs (Nick), Meredith Nolen (Matt), Amanda El-Aya (Phil), and David Burt; seventeen great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins.

A visitation for Harold will be held Friday, April 5, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228, followed by a committal service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
