As a young boy, he was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, starting out as a Cub Scout and working his way up to an Eagle Scout and he loved collecting coins. During the summers, while attending college, Harold worked for OTASCO as a salesman. After graduating from OSU, he was employed by Wilson Food Meat Packing (OKC). Harold met the love of his life Yolanda, on a blind date at the 1971 OU-TX football game. It was a win for Harold and OU. They married the following year on September 30th and relocated to Irving/Grand Prairie, Texas area where they have made their home for the past 50 years. In Texas, Harold started at The Drawing Board and finished his sales career with Professional Packaging (ProPac).
His family and friends were his life. He had a loving wife, raising three sons, gaining two daughters-in-law, six grandchildren and numerous pets along the way, including Oden and Lola. In September, 2022, Harold and Yolanda celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary surrounded by friends and family. A celebration that included 50 years of memories from the family vacations across the United States, visits to Mexico, the last family vacation to Canada, Steven’s European trip, including dinner on top of the Eifel Tower in Paris to family cookouts in their back yard….he lived his dream.
