Harriette Levy

Harriette Stone Levy passed away on April 22, 2010 after a lengthy battle with Frontal Temporal Dementia (FTD). Her bright smile, wit and contagious laugh will be missed by everyone. She is survived by her husband Barry Levy of 45 years, son Brad Levy and his wife Jill, their children Haley, Mason, and Trevor of Frisco, Texas; and daughter Melanie Levy of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Harriette is also survived by her brothers Ron Stone and his daughter Kristyn of Austin, Texas; Martin Stone and his wife Mary Ann, and their children Erin and Garrett of Cardiff, California. Harriette was born in Port Arthur, Texas, moved to Dallas when she was three, and lived the remainder of her life there. She graduated from Hillcrest High School in Dallas and continued her education at the University of Texas and SMU. After college, Harriette worked for Raymond Nasher as part of the team that oversaw the construction and management of Northpark Shopping Center. Her professional career included working at the Dallas Apparel Mart as the executive assistant to the President of the Woman’s division. She left the Apparel Mart to become the executive assistant to the VP of Operations of Bristol Hotel Corporation. Harriette was very active in community service which she learned from her father Walter and grandfather Harry Stone. She headed a successful United Way campaign for Bristol Hotel Corporation and donated her time in many community service projects associated with Temple EmanuEl. She enriched many peoples’ existence during her lifetime and will be fondly remembered by her friends, acquaintances and co-workers. Many thanks to the nurses, caregivers and managers at Prairie Estates who provided comfort to Harriette. Special gratitude is given to Laura Holton whose care and love for Harriette and the family cannot be measured and is deeply appreciated. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25th at Sparkman Hillcrest. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of Dallas or the charity of your choice.
