

Harry Friedrich Jr., 89 of Dallas, Texas passed away on February 24, 2022. Son of the late Harry Friedrich and Helen (Pirie) Friedrich, Harry was born on March 28, 1932, in Manchester, Connecticut and grew up in nearby Rockville, Connecticut. Shortly after graduating as president of his class at Rockville High School in 1951, he joined the US Navy and served during the Korean War. Harry was stationed on the USS Hornet working in communications. After his time in the service, he married Jaqueline Seng, settled in California, and raised five children, Scott, Glenn, Cheryl, Sharon, and Neal. While residing in California, he worked in telecommunications. Harry later remarried and moved to Texas with Elizabeth ‘Betty’ English, where he lived until his death. During life Harry was an avid sports fan, always cheering on the Cubs, Red Sox, and Bears. He loved blueberries, Mickey Mouse, and a good jelly donut. Harry spent countless hours over the years volunteering with the American Red Cross and the Department of Veteran Affairs.
Harry is survived by his wife Betty and his five children. Scott Friedrich and his wife Beverly of Tolland, Connecticut. Glenn Friedrich and his wife Marci of Carlsbad, California. Cheryl Howell and her partner John Nelson of Murray, Utah. Sharon Ballis and her husband Paul of St. Paul Minnesota. Neal Friedrich and his wife Sandi of Bartlett, Tennessee. In addition to his 10 beloved grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, Harry is survived by his sister Audrey Schaefer and her husband Earl of Rockville, Connecticut, and is predeceased by his brother Gordon Friedrich and his wife Mary. He also leaves behind 5 nieces and many great nieces and nephews. A graveside service for Harry will be held Monday, March 7, 2022, at 3:00 pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX, 75225.
