Hazel Baisden Dawes, 79, of Cumby, Texas passed away September 22, 2016. She was born on November, 3, 1936 in Dallas, Texas to James and Rosa Baisden. Hazel was known for her love of bowling, Hallmark movies, John Wayne and spending time with her family during the holidays. She always cooked her famous enchiladas at Christmas and turkey and dressing at Thanksgiving. Hazel was also a devout member of County Line Baptist Church in Miller Grove, Texas.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Shelvy Dawes; children, Debra Vega and husband Nico, Ricky Dawes, Butch Gayoso and wife Patty, Jimmy Gayoso, Kimberly Denney and Kelly Dawes; sister, Rose Lee Murphy; brothers, James “Sonny Boy” Baisden, Jr., William “Dub” Baisden, Tommy Baisden and Roy Baisden, Sr.; along with thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Family will welcome visitors on Sunday, September 25 from 3:00 to 5:00pm at Grove Hill Funeral Home at 3920 Samuell Blvd. Dallas, Texas 75228. Services will be held on Monday, September 26 at 2:00pm at Grove Hill Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
