GOLDMANN, Helen “Len” Martin, 93, died Tuesday, July 27, 2021, after a long illness at an Irving assisted care facility. Born November 1, 1927 in Gadsden, AL, she was the daughter of James Robert Martin and Epsie Martin (nee Ryan). She was a graduate of the University of Alabama.
She married Theodore “Ted” Beckwith Goldmann in 1956, accompanying him to Brazil, Belgium and France for his work with various multinational companies, before returning to Michigan and then Illinois. In 1976 ,Len and Ted came back to Texas, Ted’s birthplace, to establish their own chemical distribution company, Southwest Silicone Company Inc., in Fort Worth. Following Ted’s death on August 12, 1996, Len operated the company until 1998, at which time she sold the business and retired.
Throughout their lives, Len and Ted traveled extensively, instilling Len with a love of travel, which culminated in an around-the-world cruise with her daughter in 2001, to celebrate her 74th birthday. Len lived in Dallas and Houston following her retirement, and Irving/Las Colinas for six years prior to her death.
Len’s brother James Ryan Martin of Huntsville, AL, predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter Ann Goldmann Uloth (spouse James Douglas Uloth) of Irving/Las Colinas and her niece Catherine Bechtel Team of Fort Worth, and her children (C.B. Team IV, Craig Team, and Danielle Team Skinner).
Interment will be private at Sparkman-Hillcrest, Northwest Highway Dallas (immediate family only).
