Helen Slovacek was born on March 24, 1931 in Dallas, Texas to Jerry J. and Albina (Janosec) Slovacek.
Helen attended and graduated from St Joseph Academy in Dallas, Texas. She worked as a Civil Servant for the Federal Bank in Dallas, Texas. Helen was a devout Catholic and attended church at the Blessed Sacrament Parish in Dallas, Texas.
Helen remained single her whole life after becoming ill with polio in 1959. She was able to live a fulfilling and productive life despite her condition. She was a kind and gracious woman who enjoyed the company of family and friends. Later in life her condition worsened as she suffered the effects of polio for many years.
Helen was a courageous woman who inspired us all as she did not complain nor voice her sufferings to others.
Helen is preceded in death by her father, Jerry J. Slovacek, her mother, Albina (Janosec) Slovacek and her brother Jerry W. Slovacek. She is survived by her brother Reverend Emil C. Slovacek a retired Roman Catholic priest of the Catholic Diocese of Dallas, Texas.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:00pm on August 11, 2020 at Calvary Hill Cemetery North Chapel, with Reverend Bruce Bradley officiating.
