Henry Felix Hernandez Jr.

He was born on December 1, 1950. Henry retired from the United States Marine Corps. With dedication and bravery he served with honor in the Vietnam War, he was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Henry is preceded into death by his parents Henry and Juanita Hernandez, Hope Hernandez, and sister Freda Villanueva. He is survived by his Loving Wife of 55 years Gloria E. Hernandez, his children Mary Linda and Husband Christopher Acosta, Anita Tipping, Moses Hernandez, Bernadette and Husband Marco Gutierrez, Gloria and Husband Florentino Bustamante, Jacob Hernandez and Monica Hernandez, 16 Grand Children, 5 Great Grand Children, Several Siblings and many extended family members.

Henry was very proud of his family and held a strong Catholic faith. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys games and raised all 7 of his children to be Cowboys fans. He could never sway his wife to be a fan of them Cowboys. He also liked watching his movies and listening to his Oldies but Goodies and Tejano music. He loved to groove, play a good game of pool, fish, and grill outside. If you had the pleasure to know him, then you got to experience his charismatic charm, and his flirtation personality. He told you exactly how it was, never sugar coated anything, and when he was ready for you to leave he would ask “Don’t you have a home to go to”. His legacy will never be forgotten as we all will carry a trait, life lesson, joke, favorite movie, and his amazing pancake recipe. Henry was deeply loved by many and will be profoundly missed by all.

He has gone to his new forever home with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Viewing and Rosary will be held at the North Chapel in Calvary Hill on Wednesday 2/28 at 6:00pm to 8:00pm, the Rosary will start at 7:00pm.

Funeral Mass will be held at the North Chapel in Calvary Hill on Thursday 2/29 at 8:00am.

Burial will be held at the National Cemetery on Thursday 2/29 at 10:00am

Funeral Reception will follow at the American Legion Hall at 12:00pm, located at 2755 Bachman Dr. Dallas, TX.
