Mr. Herman Leroy Powell

Welcoming Herman to heaven are his wife, Edith Elaine Powell; his parents, Charles and Lillie; and his siblings, Eldon, Hollis, Donald, Marjorie, Fred, and Irvin.

He is survived by his children, Brian Powell and Beverly Powell; his brother, Charles Powell; and numerous nieces and nephews and loved ones.

Herman loved his friends and never met a stranger. He loved his church and attended as long as he could, sharing the love of Christ with everyone he met. Herman also loved the study of history and enjoyed chatting about historical events over coffee with his friends at his favorite diner. A survivor of leukemia for over 20 years, Herman would appreciate donations made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Visitation will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 South R.L., Dallas, TX 75232, on March 10, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A Funeral Service will follow at Laurel Land Funeral Home on March 10, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Burial will take place at Laurel Land Mem Park - Dallas, 6300 S. R.L. Thornton Frwy., Dallas, TX 75232, on March 10, 2026, from 3:10 pm to 3:30 pm.
