Homer Sims, affectionately known as “Homer T” was born in Galveston TX to Homer and Annie Sims on October 20, 1959. The family later relocated to Dallas TX where he attended DALLAS ISD and completed schooling from Skyline High School.
Homer T developed a passion for automobiles at an early age, which ultimately led to a long and fulfilling career as a local mechanic. He dedicated many years to serving residents throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area, helping them with their automotive needs. He proudly continued this work at Sims Automotive alongside his late uncle, where his knowledge, skill, and dedication became a lasting part of his legacy.
In his early years he met and married the late Doris “Von” Sims. From this union they were blessed with one daughter Sherry LaVon, and he lovingly gained a bonus daughter the late LaKecial Denise. He treasured the love of his family and memories they shared throughout the years.
Later in life, he was blessed to find his life partner Michelle Jefferson. Through their relationship, he gained three bonus children Camellia Jefferson, Chuck Jefferson, Chakita Lenzy and seven grandchildren, adding even more love, joy, and cherished memories to his life.
On September 14, 2026 Homer T’s earthly journey came to an end, and he peacefully transitioned from this life to his eternal home in Heaven. Though his presence will be deeply missed, his life, love, and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
