Howard Garcia, Sr., 71 passed away on November 17, 2021 in Dallas, Texas. Howard was born on April 23, 1950 in Dallas, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Garcia of 51 years; daughter, Lorrie Garcia (Ronald Llamas); grandson, Ryan J. Llamas (Evan Marquez); granddaughters, Lorissa and Lorrin Llamas; godson/son, Basilio “Nunie” Clark (Grace Clark); sisters, Mary and Margaret Vasquez; brothers, Jesse Garcia (Virginia Garcia); Manuel Garcia (Lisa Garcia); Jimmy Garcia (Frances Garcia); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by both parents, Jesse and Amelia Garcia; brother, Florencio “Frencho” Garcia, Sr., and son, Howard Garcia, Jr.
Howard lived most of his life in the West Dallas and Oak Cliff area until he moved his family to Duncanville, Texas in 1986. Howard was a longtime truck driver and member of the Teamsters Local #745 since 1977. He had a love for music in his younger years and was the trumpet player for a popular local group known as “The High Lites.” Anyone that knew him knew he looked serious and mean a lot of the time, but he had a heart of gold. He would try to help anyone that needed the help. He would’ve given anyone the shirt off his back if they needed it. We knew despite him being very blunt, straight to the point and would never sugar coat anything he meant no harm. Howard had some health issues he was fighting, but he tried so hard to stay with us as long as he could and we knew he was getting tired. Now, he’s with the rest of our guardian angels.
