He was born in Jackson Mississippi on September 24, 1928 to Bertha and Robert Lee Smith.
Howard attended Baylor University where he received his Bachelor of Arts, then on to East Texas State University where he received his Master of Arts and finally his Doctorate Degree from Parker College of Chiropractic. Howard had his own practice in Garland, Texas. He proudly served our country in the Marines and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Howard also enjoyed making jewelry in his spare time.
He was married to Ada Mae Blanton Smith in 1956, they had two children, David Smith and Donna Smith.
He is survived by his children, David and Donna; grandchildren, Tyler, Ashley and Victoria; brothers, Edward Earl Smith and Bobby Smith.
Graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Wednesday, August 16 at 10:00AM.
