Hugh John Farrell III was born in San Antonio, Texas on August 10, 1932 and passed away peacefully on September 21, 2013. Proud of his Woodrow Wilson Wildcats, Tremont Kids, UT Longhorns, Irish roots, Texas birth and State Fair ribbons for his photos, Hugh John Farrell III is lovingly survived by his wife of 61 years, Nancy Chewning Farrell of Rockwall; daughters Melissa Holloway (Randy), Houston; Cathy Wilson (Rod), Dallas; Sharon Van Buskirk (Jeff), Dallas, and Kim Ursery (Jerry), Garland; grandchildren Heather, Nikki, Brandee, Joseph and Sarah; great-grandchildren Brooke, Brandon, Bryce, Rylee, Payton and Judeska; brother-in-law Jack Chewning and wife Sue of California; two nieces, Elizabeth and Carolyn, and their families, also of California; and a multitude of dear friends. Attended the University of Texas and graduated from what later became UT-Arlington, he earned a BBA in Business and immediately started his long career with Texas Instruments. Thank you for loving us and letting us love you. Visitation is set for 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25 at the funeral home. Dear Nancy and family,
Hugh hired me when I went to work for TI. He was an incredible boss. We had a lot of fun working on the QC line (Phyllis, Reida and I) working for Hugh. He was funny, considerate and kind, as well as simply a super nice guy. I had not seen him in years but we talked not too awful long ago and shared a lot of laughs and TI'er memories. May he rest in peace. My sympathy to your family at this sad time .

Mr. Farrell and his wife Nancy will long be remembered and appreciated for all that they did with Morticians of the Southwest, the funeral service publication that was near and dear to so many funeral service professionals in this part of the country for so many years. We in funeral service, all miss the magazine and will always love and appreciate the dedication Hugh and Nancy put in to keeping us informed and up-to-date on what was going on in our profession across the Southwest. Our thoughts and prayers and memories will long be with the family and we thank you for all you did for funeral service.
