Hugo Cabrera Sr January 25, 1937 - January 4, 2021

Hugo Cabrera, 83, of Flower Mound, TX, passed away Monday, January 4, 2021.

Born in Guerrero, MX, Hugo was a Singer, Troubadour, Actor, Composer, Guitarist and Pianist. He captured a lot of hearts and attention with his amazing voice singing in Spanish, Italian and English. He was inspired by his father Fausto Cabrera’s singing and playing the guitar for the family and also his sister Lupita Cabrera who sang and later recorded a record and also had performances on the radio and different venues. Hugo started his music career at an early age by joining the Mexico Boys Choir and later led him to write hundreds of songs and travel and share his musical gift throughout the country of Mexico, United States and Canada. He participated in singing and writing contests such as OTI Festival and was included in several cultural events. He performed songs that he wrote for cities such as Santa Barbara, CA, Chihuahua, MX, Zacatecas, MX and many more. Hugo also starred in movies and wrote music soundtracks in Mexico including movies named El Pueblo Fantasma, El Tejano, Marietta and many more.

He is preceded in death by his sons, Hugo Jr, November 18, 1989 and Luis, November 15, 1998. He is survived by his wife Dolores Susana Cabrera; Sons, Francisco, Salvador and Jesus; Daughters, Lluvia, Flor, Rocio, Alexandra and Elizabeth; Grandsons, Francisco Jr, Luis Jr, Salvador Jr, Jesus Jr, Jaime Jr, Andy, Matthew, Johnathan, Jason, Kameron, Ryan and Luis(Weezy); Granddaughters, Priscilla, Krystina, Jolyssa, Francine, Karla, Selena, Kamila, Celine, Sarah, Kayla, Isabel, Silvia, Cynthia, Jessica C., Leah, Brooke, Jessica, Brieahn, Marissa and Cecilia, and 14 great grandchildren.
