

He graduated from National Taiwan University in 1958 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He graduated from Ohio State University with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1961. He also graduated from Stanford University with a graduate degree, Degree of Engineer in Electrical Engineering in 1964. He received his Doctor of Philosophy in Electrophysics from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn in 1968.
He taught graduate school as an Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama Research Institute in Huntsville, Alabama, prior to moving to Dallas, Texas to work for Texas Instruments Inc. in 1971. At Texas Instruments, Inc., he was an Electrical Engineer, where he became a member of the technical staff. He retired from Texas Instruments after a long engineering career in defense electronics. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was an author of ten Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) articles. He was also the author of Chapter 9, Slot Antennas in the Antenna Engineering Handbook, Second Edition and Third Edition. He was also an inventor of the following issued patents “Microwave Oscillator Position Sensor”, US patent number 5,097,227; Polarized Antenna Having Longitudinal Shunt Slotted And Rotational Series Slotted Feed Plates, US patent number 5,473,334; Dual End Resonant Slot Array Antenna Feed Having A Septum, US patent number 5,019831; and Lead For A Resonance Slot Antenna Arrangement Fed At Both Ends, German patent number DE3689015T2.
With respect to his professional memberships, he was a senior member of IEEE, a member of the science and engineering honor society, Sigma Xi. He was also the Vice Chairman and then the Chairman of GAP and GMTT Huntsville Chapter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ming Chun Yee and Shui Fong Cheung. He is survived by his wife, Hongguah Wang; sisters, Hung Bor Yu and Hung Fun Yu; son, Duke Wieder Yee (Rose); daughter, Miranda Weihun Yee; grandchildren, Austin Rutledge Yee, Sarah Michelle Yee and Lindsey Nicole Yee (Tanner).
Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX, 75225.
