Imad was born Greek Orthodox in Homs, Syria to Khair-Alah Anies Anbouba and Margaux Sirhan Anbouba. After graduating from high school, Imad moved to the United States to pursue his higher education. He attended Centenary College of Louisiana for his undergraduate work. There he met his future wife and the mother of his children, Kimberly Goss Anbouba. After receiving his undergraduate degree, he graduated from Louisiana Tech University with an advanced degree in Petroleum Engineering.
Upon graduating, Imad began his long career in the Oil & Gas industry in Lafayette, Louisiana. In 1986, he moved to Dallas from Shreveport to join Triton Energy. During his more than 15 years with Triton Energy he traveled the world furthering his position and knowledge as an oil man making new discoveries and pushing the limits on drilling. In 1999, Imad ventured into the private sector and founded MarJam Global Holdings, Inc. focusing on business development activities and investments in the oil, gas, midstream and petro-chemical sectors of the energy business.
Through his ownership of MarJam Global Holdings, Inc. Imad founded and managed multiple companies, staying focused in the oil, gas and energy sectors. Imad was always willing to share his knowledge, enthusiasm and passion for the industry and served on multiple boards of public and private companies. Imad was an inspiration to everyone that worked with him. His work ethic, technical knowledge, financial acumen and attention to details were well known, as were his values, integrity and sense of fairness.
In 2021 his son James joined Imad at MarJam Global Holdings, Inc. where they continued to work together, attend Wildcatter events and be active members of the Dallas Petroleum Club and the Dallas Producers Club.
Imad lived a full life with no regrets. His most memorable and endearing quality was his dedication to family and friends. He was the epitome of what a dedicated and dependable family man and father is. He always managed his schedule to keep family and primarily his children as his top priority. He supported and nurtured them to follow their dreams and at every opportunity possible would brag on their accomplishments. He leaves behind an enormous circle of friends and community, cultivated over the years from his early days in Syria, college days in Louisiana, trips all over the world and the Oil and Gas community. His friends reciprocated to him the same love and respect he unselfishly gave. If he could make it happen or be there for you he would. Imad was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoying all kinds of bird hunting and fishing all over the world.
In 2010 Imad met Shelley and it was clear to all that this relationship marked a before and an after in their lives. They loved one another with such conviction and so much heart, that it was impossible to doubt that it was right for them to be together. "Hey Sweet” and "Yes love" were constantly heard in their home. A home filled with art collected through travels to exhibits around the world and fond memories of many a hosted festive party. Together they supported many philanthropic organizations, two favorites being, Cherokee Creek Music Festival and Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center. They cheered for all things TCU and Dallas Cowboys. They mutually adored and respected one another and together they became exactly who they always wanted to be.
