She will always be remembered as a loving, caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all that knew and loved her. She was born on January 18, 1925, in Biardstown, Texas, to James and Helen Reeves. Imogene is survived by her daughter, Jane Tacker and husband John; by her granddaughter, Jennifer Purifoy and husband David; by her grandson Jeffrey Tacker and wife, Holli; and by her two shining star great-grandsons, Kelton and Cort Purifoy. She was welcomed into Heaven by her beloved husband Robert (Bob) Adams, her parents, sisters and brother and numerous relatives and friends who have been awaiting her arrival for quite some time.
Imogene went to nursing school at St. Paul Hospital School of Nursing and then began teaching there. She went on to work for Dallas Independent School District as a nurse. During this time, she went back to college and got her Master’s Degree in Special Education, travelling on the weekends to East Texas State University to study. She retired from DISD to take care of the love of her life, Bob, until his death in 1997.
She moved from Dallas to Argyle in 2013. Two years ago, she moved into Davis Family Elder Care in Double Oak, Texas, where she was given the utmost care and compassion. We would like to thank the owner, Jennifer Davis, and all the staff at Davis Family Elder Care for taking such excellent care and loving on her until her last day. We would also like to thank life-long friend, Nellie Bessette, for being there for her as well and taking care of her to the end.
Her visitation will be held on Monday, April 18th, at 1:00 pm. Holy Rosary will begin at 1:30 pm followed by Funeral Mass and Burial. All services will take place at Calvary Hill Chapel and Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas, 75220.
