Iris Wacher

October 23, 1937 – July 1, 2020
Obituary of Iris Wacher
IN THE CARE OF

Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home & Hillcrest Mausoleum & Memorial Park

Iris Wacher, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away July 1, 2020 after suffering a severe hemorrhagic stroke.

Iris was born on October 23, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York. After attending Brooklyn College, she worked as an executive secretary in New York City. In 1965 she married Paul Wacher of Queens, New York, with whom she shared a wonderful marriage for 54 years. They were blessed with three fine children whom she loved dearly and a lovely granddaughter who she cherished.

In 1981, Paul was transferred to Texas by his firm. So after living in the northeast for her entire life, Iris spent the last 39 years of her life in the same home in Plano, Texas-raising their kids, ensuring that they were well educated, rejoicing in their successes in life and continuing to be a devoted and loving wife to her husband.

Iris was a truly good woman, with a compassionate and generous heart and a sweetness that emanated from her like a beacon that drew to her all who knew her and loved her. She will be terribly missed.

Iris is predeceased by her parents, Nathan and Rebecca Targue and sister, June Levine. She is survived by husband, Paul Wacher of Plano, TX, son, Harris Wacher, of Dallas, TX son, Adam Wacher, MD, of Friendswood, TX daughter, Robyn Zudekoff and husband Roger Zudekoff and granddaughter, Madelyn Zudekoff all of Allen, TX, sister-in-law, Diane Posner, of Sun City, FL, and numerous nephews and cousins.

She was laid to rest in the Garden of Abraham at Sparkman/Hillcrest cemetery on July 5, 2020.
