Irvin served in the Air Force during the Korean War and later went into a career in trucking.

Some of his hobbies included woodworking and repairing anything with an engine.

Irvin is survived by daughter, Karen Burrell, grandchildren, Joshua and Alena Hall and brother Bill Hall.
