Jack LeRoy Kingsley, of Dallas, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019, after a 16-month battle with genetic lung cancer. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Haacke-Kingsley. They married in New York and would have celebrated their 40th anniversary in October. Jack was born on July 22, 1947 in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Anna “Ann” Varuso Kingsley and Frank Merrill Kingsley. After graduating from Blackwell High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in July 1965 and graduated from AFU “A” School and T-28 Plane Captain School. He was stationed initially in Pensacola, Florida, and then at Miramar Naval Air Station in California, where as an avionics technician with the Navy’s VFP-63 Squadron, he worked on the F4 Phantom and F8 Crusader jets. Moving to Dallas after his discharge in 1969, Jack began a career in the audio and electronics field. Starting in retail, he later became a regional sales representative, then a national sales manager and a national training manager. In 1995, he ventured into a new career in residential mortgage banking that spanned 23 years. For more that 15 years of that time, he worked with Supreme Lending, first as a Branch Manager and later as a Senior Loan Officer. Jack was an avid pool player, accomplished in the game of chess and he enjoyed football and tennis. He also liked to watch old Westerns and auto restoration programs. In fact, old cars were a passion, and he took great care of his vintage Mercedes. Good friends were another important part of Jack’s life, and he met his buddies almost every day for breakfast at the Oasis Cafe. He was also fond of the feline members of the family, and they were a great comfort to him in his final days. In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by his sister, Anne Kingsley Stanton and husband Allen; his brother Edward Kingsley and wife, Jennifer and his nieces Kely Kingsley (“Luv you more”), Lisa Turner, Eden Kingsley and Sonja Bothell and husband, Darren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his nephew, Kyle Kingsley and sister-in-law, Susan Kingsley.
