Jack graduated from South Garland High School in 1969. Jack married Shelley on August 21, 1971, this past August they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
His career began as Account Executive for Southwestern Bell, followed by a Manager position with Rockwell International. He began working for Alcatel in 1992 as the Managing Director for North America and went on to serve as President of Alcanet before transferring overseas to the Headquarters in Paris France in 2002 through 2003, then moved to the Asia Pacific Headquarters in Shanghai, China until 2008. He then worked for a short time at GCEG Telecom and Protection1 as a security consultant. In 2012 Jack took the position of Project Manager for the City of Dallas and continued working through his illness and until his death. He also spent his spare time working on projects at the family’s various properties.
Jack was a family man and loved his family dearly. He called his Mom almost every evening and he enjoyed their visits even with all of her questions. After 50 years of marriage to Shelley, he had learned the art of tuning her out when he needed to but they shared a very comfortable relationship. He would go to the country and she would go out with the girls. They shared an unconditional love, he has left many wonderful memories. Cole and Jack were both avid readers and shared many books and had many discussions from History to the state of the World now. Blair was always daddy’s little girl and they had a special bond. She always said “Dad likes me best!”. Jack was also an avid outdoorsman who got Tom hooked on hunting, they pursued the Big Buck together! Grandad Jack didn’t have an opportunity to meet baby Mia, but Blair made sure he had daily updates of pictures which he looked forward to seeing every day. She is our reminder of the circle of life.
Even though he had traveled literally all over the world, throughout Asia and Europe as well as South America and Australia, home is where his heart was. He taught us many things including to be strong and brave and we will take that with us. We will find comfort that he is truly home now.
Jack is survived by his mother; Rosemary Tilbury, His wife; Shelley Marie Tilbury and their beloved children; Cole Glenn Tilbury, Blair Cara Wright (Richard Thomas Wright) and his granddaughter; Amelia “Mia” Wright.
