Our sweetheart, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother has gone to fly with the angels. She was born November 2, 1930, to Mr. and Mrs. Boyce Harris in Texarkana, Texas. She graduated from Texarkana Texas High School in 1947 where she was a drum majorette. She entered SMU in the Fall of 1947. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and was nominated as a beauty nominee in 1949. She met Ed Vanston at SMU and they had their first date in early December, 1949. From then on neither had a date with anyone else and they were married on May 5th, 1950. She was a member of the Dallas Woman's Club, The Dallas Garden Club and The Village Gardeners. She is survived by her husband, Ed Vanston, 2 daughters, Vicki Vanston Rothschild and husband Dr. Berny Rothschild, Caroline Vanston Poe and husband Steve Poe, Two sons, Ed Vanston III and wife Suzy and Mark Vanston and wife Deanna. Eight grandchildren, Joey Rothschild and wife Cathy, Nick Rothschild, Chelsea Poe, Cassidy Poe, Bradley Vanston, Jesse Vanston, Alex Vanston and Daniel Vanston and great grandson, Charlie Rothschild. There will be a private memorial service at a later date.
