

Jim was born in Dallas, TX on April 11, 1945, to Anna Lou and True Cannon. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and continued to receive a degree from North Texas State University. Jim was married to Joie Walters- Cannon on December 28, 2011; they were married 13 years.
Jim worked as an Account Rep/Manager and Contract Manager for Xerox Corp for 34 years.
He enjoyed traveling and photography and was always involved with Woodrow Wilson High School functions.
Jim is survived by his wife Joie Cannon, and his children Brent Cannon, Lori Gardner and her husband Oscar with their children Elizabeth Teague and her husband Michael and Abby Teague, Brian Cannon and his wife Shannyn and their children True Cannon and Jaclyn Cannon.
Jim was also very close with his stepchildren John Walters and his wife Sarah and their children, Avery, Adeline and Cora, and Lindsay Kelley and her husband Sean Kelley and their children Annie and Ivy, and other family and friends.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents Anna Lou and True Cannon and his sisters, Patricia Huey and Bobbi Burch.
Visitation will be held on September 25,2025 from 4:30 to 7:30 PM at Grove Hill. Funeral services will be held at Grove Hill on September 26, at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jim’s memory may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
