He is preceded in death by his parents Mary & James DiCarlo and his wife Marie Duca DiCarlo.
James was a Charter member of St. Thomas Aquinas and included Scofield Church in his worship. He was in the grocery business all of his life which lead him to open Jimmy’s Food Store in 1966. James is survived by his children Vincent & wife Suzanne, Mary Martha Francis, Mike DiCarlo & wife Alice and Paul & wife Annettee, as well as, 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.Visitation will be held at Sparkman/Hillcrest on Thursday, August 8, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The recitation of the Rosary will be on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, with Father John Libone and Bishop Michael Duca of Shreveport as co-celebrants. Entombment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Joe Francis, James DiCarlo, Charlie DiCarlo, Jack DiCarlo, Tony DiCarlo, and Jeff White.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his name, to the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
