James David “Jimmy” Holloway, Jr. beloved husband of Elaine Marie Holloway, died Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas at the age of 79 years. Jimmy lived in Dallas, Texas for the past 42 years.
He was born August 4, 1947 in Hartford, Connecticut to James D. Holloway, Sr. and Mary Madeline Walsh Holloway. He enjoyed sports especially track and football, playwriting, photography, poetry, acting, singing, music and dancing and loved traveling throughout the religious sites in Europe. He was a source of strength, always sensitive to the needs of others, a trusted spouse and friend. The most important accomplishment that Jimmy will be remembered for is the book he authored Our Lady of Guadalupe, THE LAST GOSPEL. Jimmy worked and prayed tirelessly for years traveling to Mexico with Elaine, researching and recording his findings about the Apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe to Juan Diego. His book bears the Imprimatur and the Nihil Obstat, and is currently being translated into Spanish.
He is survived by his beloved wife Elaine M. Holloway, his sister Jeanne Elaine Holloway of Mineola, TX, daughter Heather Lynne Holloway of Glastonbury, Ct and his granddaughters Aleksia Raven Hill and Summer Alexis Rodriguez. He was preceded in death by his parents: James David Holloway, Sr. (June 21, 1919-July 19,2005) and Mary Walsh Holloway Preble ( February 13, 1926- July 17, 2011). On his sister side, he leaves behind, three nieces, two twin nephews, four great nieces, one great nephew, and several cousins. On his wife's side, he leaves behind, seven nieces, eight nephews and several great nieces and great nephews.
Jimmy bore suffering in silence, and like his father carried his cross with the belief that nothing but goodness would follow his actions if he held fast to his principles and integrity. His family will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. Although he is no longer with us, his love, laughter, and the mark he made on our lives will remain in our hearts and our prayers.
May he rest in eternal peace.
In lieu of flowers the family of Mr. Holloway Jr., requests Masses and prayers.
