James was born on December 22, 1943, in Dallas, Texas, to James and Mildred Hux. He attended school in Irving, Texas. On July 3, 1965, James married the love of his life, Rita Hux. Together, they shared nearly 60 wonderful years of marriage and would have celebrated their 60th anniversary this coming July.
Throughout his life, James built a reputation as a respected and independent home builder, dedicating over 55 years to his craft. Beyond his work, he found great joy in fishing, attending horse races, The Annual July 4th Party and most of all, spending cherished time with his family and friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Mildred Hux; his sister, Mary Young; and his brothers, Bill Hux, Danny Hux, and Michael Hux.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Rita Hux; his sons, Tim Hux and wife Kim, and James Hux and wife Angie; and his treasured grandchildren, Baylee Hux, Nathan Hux, and Corey Leos with wife Dassia.
James also leaves behind his brothers, Eugene Hux and wife Glenda, Jerry Hux and wife Tammy, and Joe Hux and wife Bessie; as well as his sisters, Dorthy Self, Becky Williams and husband Rick, Mildred Perez and husband Ruben, and Carol Yarbrough and husband Jerald. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives he touched deeply.

• Visitation: Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Calvary Hill Chapel.
• Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Calvary Hill Chapel.
• Committal Service: Following Mass at 12:00 PM at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
